If you’re travelling through Wellington in your motorhome, make sure Te Papa Tongarewa is on your list. And if you’ve never been… this is one stop you really shouldn’t skip!
Te Papa is so much more than a museum. You can wander through fascinating exhibitions covering New Zealand’s history, Māori and Pacific cultures, art, nature and the stories that have shaped our country. Get up close to incredible natural history displays, discover what life was like for New Zealanders in the past, learn about our unique wildlife and ecosystems, and explore exhibitions that bring Aotearoa’s stories to life. And then there’s the Te Marae, the incredible Māori meeting house inside Te Papa, along with plenty of interactive experiences that make it a great day out for adults and kids alike. The best part? You don’t need to be a “museum person” to enjoy it. There’s something around almost every corner that will have you stopping, looking and thinking, “Wow, I didn’t know that!” So if Wellington is on your travel plans, park up, head into the city and give yourself a few hours to explore. Te Papa is one of those places you can visit once… and still find something new the next time you’re in Wellington. A great rainy day activity although we reckon it’s worth visiting whatever the weather! www.tepapa.govt.nz/ Comments are closed.
