This month I thought that we would focus on how we set ourselves apart from our competition. There are so many RV companies throughout New Zealand from which to choose and there are so many motorhome and caravan brands available, it all becomes a little confusing. We noticed at the Auckland Motorhome and Caravan Show earlier this year that people were getting absolutely overloaded with information and of course everyone thinks their brand is the best. Often this "information overload" can be off-putting and defeats the purpose of even attending such a show. It can also mean that people who were intending to purchase at the show may delay their decision whilst they filter through the information.
DeLuxe is a company that has been servicing Marlborough since 1926 so we have been around for a while. Today we don't just deal in Motorhomes and Caravans but we also own and operate Marlborough's largest residential property development company. We have just commenced our latest 190 section development known as Rose Manor. So not only have we been around for a while but also, we are no longer a small business but quite a sizeable enterprise. Having 5 family members involved in the day to day running of our businesses, and a very dedicated and loyal team, means we have total focus and dedication to the job at hand.
DeLuxe is very much a family business with two generations of Smith's currently at the helm. Our recipe has always been quite simple really. Our customers are our No. 1 focus. I always remember the Allan Martin philosophy - "It's the putting right that counts". In the RV industry we believe that it's the after sales service that sets us apart from our competitors. Although being based in Blenheim our customer base is only around 10% from Marlborough with the rest being spread from as far away as Kaitaia in the north to Invercargill in the south. We have relationships with suppliers throughout New Zealand so dealing with possible issues usually is just a phone call away. We have a dedicated family member - Brett Smith who is responsible for after sales service and this is something we take very seriously.
DeLuxe has spent many years developing its customer base and securing fantastic brands in both Motorhomes and Caravans. If you purchase from DeLuxe then we prioritise your business. Often, we hear stories of people making purchases however they can't get delivery of readily available stock as there's a backlog to get the likes of bike racks, extra solar and the likes fitted. We don't do outwork for people unless the Motorhome or Caravan has been purchased from us. We have limited capacity in our Blenheim workshop and our total focus is on getting our stock ready for the yard and any aftersales servicing that may be required. This may turn some people away from us however it's our philosophy and we find it works for us. In saying that if someone calls us or rocks up with an issue, then we have a full list of suppliers that we refer them to. This list can be found on our website under Service and Repairs. All of these suppliers we use ourselves and are very competent.
